A supercrew from NYC, the Wu revolutionized the rap game with their entrepreneurial skills and army of affiliates.
Rolling nine deep, they include Method Man, RZA, Raekwon, Deck, Ghostface, Masta Killa, GZA, U-God, and ODB.
The Wu-Tang empire also includes a clothing line, films, video games, and comic books.
Both RZA and GZA had pre-Wu record deals. RZA had a mild hit with "Ooh We Love You Rakeem" on Tommy Boy.
The Wu's first official release came in early '93, with the furious, independent single "Protect Ya Neck."
