The Coup are Boots Riley on the mic and Pam the Funkstress behind the decks.
They debuted in 1993 with "Kill My Landlord."
Along with dead prez, the Coup are one of the few hip-hop groups who truly support an antigovernment uprising.
The Coup were originally a trio. E-Roc left the group after the first album.
