Richard Thompson

Fairport Convention founder plays solo Folk-Rock with a heavy dose of British style. His best songs are scornful.
Thompson is often compared to both Bob Dylan (his intriguing lyrics) and Eric Clapton (another guitar virtuoso).
In the early '70s, Sandy Denny introduced Thompson to Linda Peters. Peters would soon become his wife and singing partner.
Richard Thompson's less than jovial themes were brought into stunning focus with Linda's clear, emotive voice.
Rolling Stone voted "Shoot Out the Lights" (1982) one of the most important albums of the 1980s.
