Fuelled by Bomb Squad beats and Chuck D's booming rhymes, PE were one of the first to fuse hardcore politics with hip-hop.
They helped spread hip-hop across the globe and educated listeners to the issues of racism, classism, and shady politicians.
Much of PE's incendiary production was handled by the Bomb Squad, who also laid beats for Ice Cube's first two solo albums.
