One of the very first and most influential rappers from NYC, Kurtis Blow is responsible for several hip-hop classics.
His biggest hits include "The Breaks," "Basketball," and "Hard Times."
Kurtis Blow was also the first rapper with a major label contract, dropping his self-titled debut way back in 1980.
He released one album a year every year from 1980 to 1988.
