Rock 'n' Soul Queen Janis' outta hand vocals and charmingly sloppy backing bands blurred the lines between rock and blues. Joplin owned a Porsche with a custom psychedelic paint job. It was once on display at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. Joplin died from too much rock 'n' roll during the recording sessions for "Pearl." She was twenty-seven years old. Joplin's biggest hit was released posthumously: her cover of Kris Kristofferson's "Me And Bobby McGee." Attempts at making a Janis biopic have all failed. There is no one suited to portray her live performances.
