Chi-Ali
In 1991, Black Sheep released their landmark debut A Wolf In Sheep's Clothing. Featured on the outstanding posse cut "Pass The 40" was Chi-Ali, a fiery teenage emcee with lyrical skills that belied his age. In '92 he released The Fabulous Chi-Ali, an underrated album that paired his verbal boasts with early production by the Beatnuts. He scored hits with several singles, most notably "Age Ain't Nothin' But A #" and "Roadrunner." Unfortunately success was fleeting for the young star, and he soon joined the masses of "where are they now?" emcees. In 2000 things got dramatically worse, as he was accused of a brazen murder in New York. Chi-Ali quickly split town, but after being featured on America's Most Wanted (twice,) he was apprehended the following year.
